My Top 5 Takeaways From the IMEX Conference

Last week, I attended IMEX in Las Vegas, one of the world’s largest gatherings for the global events industry. With over 15,500 attendees, the three-day event was packed with meetings, networking, and exciting discoveries. I completed 26 appointments, ranging from Convention and Visitors Bureaus to hotels and meeting tech companies, even learning about new meeting swag. The experience also included exclusive receptions by Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Auberge Resorts Collection—and a Maroon 5 concert!

Here are my top five takeaways from this fast-paced event:

1. Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind?

Fort Worth is more than cowboys and cattle drives! With its vibrant Sundance Square entertainment district, world-class museums, and a growing arts scene, this city is becoming a prime destination for meetings. New hotels like the Crescent Hotel and Bowie House are just part of a $1 billion expansion that includes updates to the convention center and Stockyards. Located just 20 miles from DFW Airport, it’s a convenient and exciting option for your next corporate event.

2. Give a Gift That Gives Back

Banff & Lake Louise Tourism’s Community Impact Program offers companies a chance to align their meetings with a good cause. Attendees can use pre-paid cards in the destination, and a portion of unspent funds goes to local charities. It’s a great way to give your attendees something meaningful while supporting the local community.

3. Consider Rosewood Mandarina for Your Next Incentive Trip

Opening soon, Rosewood Mandarina in Mexico is the ultimate spot for a corporate incentive trip. With stunning ocean views, polo onsite, and activities like zip-lining and hiking, this resort promises an unforgettable experience. Rosewood starts accepting group bookings in April 2025.

4. Pyvot Socks: A Cool, Thoughtful Gift

Looking for a memorable, easy-to-transport attendee gift? Check out Pyvot’s high-quality, artist-designed socks. These durable socks not only look and feel great, but they also contribute to public art projects. It’s a fun, creative way to align your event with a meaningful cause.

5. Relationships Matter

IMEX reminded me how relationships in the events industry evolve over time. I reconnected with colleagues from my early hotel days and built new connections that will make planning future client programs smoother. Personal relationships truly matter in this business, and IMEX helped strengthen them.
